Steven is a seasoned business executive with a distinguished career dedicated to advancing community and economic development, promoting financial equity, and driving institutional excellence. Since becoming President & CEO of Greater Cleveland Community Credit Union (GCCCU) in January 2023, he has led a transformative chapter in the credit union’s history.

Under his leadership, GCCCU has consistently ranked among Ohio’s top ten credit unions with assets under $35 million in both loan and membership growth. Steve has spearheaded initiatives in financial coaching, small business support, member engagement, and expanded mission aligned community collaborations. He has also modernized operations, upgraded facilities, and expanded digital banking capabilities to better serve members.

A key milestone of his tenure includes securing GCCCU’s designation as an Ohio Public Depository, enabling partnerships with public agencies and nonprofit organizations across Cuyahoga County.
Steve brings extensive experience from both the public and private sectors, having held leadership roles at the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, KeyBank, First Bank, N.A., and Coopers & Lybrand. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ohio University.

He also completed executive training at Harvard University, attended Ashland Theological Seminary, and is a non-practicing CPA. Deeply committed to civic engagement and community uplift, Steve has served on more than 20 boards and spent 12 years as a member of the University Heights City Council.
