Youth Savings Program
The Youth Saving Account is designed to help parents and others teach and instill good saving, promote financial literacy and responsibility, and reward academic excellence among youth.
A parent or adult relative must open the Account and must be a member of the Credit Union. The youth must have a Social Security Number, be under 18 years of age, and make a $5.00 minimum initial deposit.
For any youth member ages 5-18 that maintains an account with a balance of $50.00 or more, the Credit Union will deposit $50.00 into the account of the youth member that presents a report card showing they completed the final grading period of the academic year with straight “A’s” or will deposit $25 into the account of a youth member that presents a report card showing they earned a 3.0 GPA average or better for the final grading period of the academic year. The report card must be presented to the Credit Union between May 1 and July 31 of the year.
